Hollymoor Tree of Life
|
Yellow is a fun loving pup who is exceptionally calm and will probably make a good pose show prospect, being quick and accurate to pose.
|
Black is a steady and easy going pup who should turn out to be a good all-rounder. Easy to train and work with, looks to be a promising agility or frisbee prospect.
|
Blue is the runt of the litter and seems to be very nervous of everything, while he adores being stroked he is scared of anything new and will need a kind and gentle owner prepared to put time and effort into this pup.
|
Green is a lovely pup to work with, keen and eager to please. He is exceptionally trainable and picked up tricks and commands really quickly. He also posed in insane time! Should be a fantastic pup to work with.
|
Orange is quite a reactive little pup, who is not too keen on being stroked and handled. Orange didn't show a lot of potential in any specific area but I suspect with patience he could turn his paw at any discipline.
|
Red is a wonderful little pup who seems to be exceptionally talented, very quick to learn tricks, even the trickier ones, is super keen on gundog work and is a nice little poser.

Gundog Training
Steady Training
all pups successfully mastered either a sit or down steady using the bone treat.
Recall Training
Group recall training went well and all pups were happy and eager to run to the hand whenever called.
Introduction to birds
Introducing the pups to birds is always one of my favourite training activities. Black, Yellow and Green were calm around the birds, green showed a desire to herd them which might be interesting to pursue. Orange befriended his chick and they hit it off really well while red simple ignored the birds in favour of completing tricks and somersaults. And little blue was terrified of the new creatures.
Retrieve Training
Retrieve training went well and eventually all pups were happy to retrieve the dummy. Yellow seems unreadable clumsy and kept falling over, while red is easily distracted and doesn't always come back. Blue was unsure and nervous at first but with gentle encouragement did eventually retrieve the dummy, even if just at a walking pace.
Jump Training
Jump training was fun, most pups were happy to jump straight away black and red especially excelled at jumping. Blue was initially nervous but did eventually complete the jump with lots of praise afterwards. Orange took the longest to be persuaded to try out jumping and didn't seem keen.
Pup Scurry Day
Next it was time to put the newfound gundog skills to the test. We held a scurry competition with all 6 pups featuring a Quarry Dash, Speed Retrieve, Blind Retrieve and Double Retrieve.
Enjoy the unplanned commentary from myself and my daughter (I thought I’d turned the mic off lol) with interruptions from a real life naughty puppy, who then was asking to go outside and was way too interested in what the pretend puppy’s were doing - obviously in her opinion she would have done much better!
